About EtonHouse

Shaping Future-Ready Global Learners

EtonHouse believes that children thrive when they take ownership of their learning. When children are happy and engaged, learning happens naturally and spontaneously. Open-mindedness, critical thinking skills, and a lifelong love for learning are just as essential as acquiring knowledge.

This thinking was the motivation behind our inquiry-based pedagogy that revolutionised the education 3 decades ago. With a global footprint of more than 100 campuses across 8 countries, we have been steadfast in our mission of delivering top-notch education to a diverse community of more than 20,000 students. Today, we continue to be a global leader in education, providing a through-train K12 education pathway in Bhutan with the same high-quality, inquiry-based learning pedagogy integrated with the local context and culture, a proposition that has made EtonHouse a trusted name worldwide.

Our educational philosophy is rooted in inquiry-based learning, inspired by the renowned Reggio Emilia approach and brought to life through our “Inquire.Think.Learn” curriculum. This commitment is further strengthened through the Reggio Children International Network, founded in 2013 by EtonHouse International Education Group. Through Reggio Emilia in Asia for Children (REACH) , we advocate for the rights of every child and support research and innovation in pedagogical practices, while championing the Reggio Emilia Approach to education. As part of this international community of like-minded educators and thought leaders, EtonHouse is proud to serve as the official reference point for Reggio Children in Singapore and China.

EtonHouse International Schools are celebrated for their bilingual programmes and internationally recognised qualifications, including the UK International Primary Curriculum and Singapore Maths in primary, Cambridge IGCSE in secondary, and International A-Levels in high school. We blend world-class education with the rich values and traditions of Bhutan’s culture, ensuring students become global citizens while remaining deeply rooted in their heritage.

We believe that education is a powerful force for change. Our students do not just learn—they question, create, and lead. They are the thinkers, problem-solvers, and agents of change, ready to shape a future filled with possibilities.

Globally Minded, Deeply Rooted Learners

Vision

Shaping the future through education

Mission

EtonHouse Bhutan will meet its vision through

Global Citizens, Rooted in Bhutanese Culture and Values

Our students gain an international perspective while staying deeply connected to their cultural roots. Our multi-language classroom (English, Dzongkha, and Mandarin) setting is thoughtfully designed for students to build confidence in multilingual communication and broadens international perspective. Dzongkha is integrated as a core component of learning, strengthening national identity and cultural grounding. With this unique balance, students develop a strong sense of identity, respect for other cultures and a deep appreciation for the world around them.

Through our EtonHouse Global Classroom project, they collaborate with peers from over 100 EtonHouse schools worldwide, broadening their horizons and cultivating international-mindedness. We hope to create opportunities for Bhutan’s culture, traditions and values to be showcased to a wider audience through our schools in other geographies.

Unique Reggio-Inspired Learning Spaces

EtonHouse schools regard the child as the first and singularly most important consideration. How we view our learners determines our interactions with them.

In our schools, we view learners as competent thinkers and communicators. They are:

The ‘image of learners’ informs not only our philosophy, curriculum, and environment design but also our training and recruitment.

Inculcated Through our Curriculum

Our Learner Values

Respect

We value ourselves, others and our shared world.

Harmony

We collaborate and live in harmony with nature.

Grit

We persevere with passion and resilience.

Curiosity

We are engaged, inquisitive, lifelong learners.

Responsibility

We act with integrity, courage and conviction.

Mindfulness

We show kindness, humility and care.

Environment

We believe the environment acts as the third teacher, a living reflection of our philosophy, pedagogy and respect for every child as a capable, curious and active learner. From Early Years, our classrooms are thoughtfully designed to invite exploration, collaboration and creativity. Documentation and learning resources are displayed at children’s eye level, learning is made visible, and each child’s work is honoured with care.

As students progress through the school, our learning spaces continue to evolve with them. From classrooms, ateliers, specialist studios, to outdoor environments, every space supports increasingly complex thinking, hands-on investigation, and deeper learning. Dedicated STEM studios, physics, chemistry, and biology laboratories, creative studios, and multi-purpose halls for sports and performances provide students with the resources and experiences they need to explore, test ideas, collaborate, and express themselves in meaningful ways.

Across the school, spaces are prepared with the intention to spark curiosity, dialogue, and discovery with ideas rooted in sustainable practice and  respectful of our students’ interests and cultural contexts. Indoor and outdoor learning are integrated seamlessly, allowing students to connect ideas across disciplines and engage with the world around them. Wherever you look, you will find evidence of students as true collaborators — taking ownership of their learning, contributing to the design of their environment and growing as confident, thoughtful and capable learners.
